I finally went to see Moneyball with Brad Pitt.  I had heard it was a good movie.  It was!  It was also 2 hours long!  With my popcorn, drink and Ivy  (my Adventures of Tami Doll doll) in hand, it wasn't bad to sit through that long of a movie.

Wow look at this!  This is my Christmas present from my husband.  He knows I love sparkly jewelry.

I have decided to go out of my comfort zone and make different cookies for Christmas this year.  I have been following alot of great blogs on Facebook, where I found the recipes for these.  They were cute and tasty too!

I have been finding alot of interesting small businesses on Facebook.  This one in particular Charming Jewelry, I really like.  I purchased some charms with my grandkids names and birthstones on them.  Isn't it cute?!

I just got these Adventures of Tami Doll.  Sshhh they are Christmas gifts for my granddaughters.  But until then we are gonna play Candy Land.....LOL

Isn't this cute?  I purchased this from a co-worker whose daughter is a girl scout.  It is to mark the Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary.  This commemorative tin contained chocolate caramels also.  So yummy.

We were very fortunate to be able to go to Disneyland for Mickey's Halloween Party.  We had so much fun.  We are already planning to make it a two day trip next year.

Once you walk into the park they hand you loot bags.  There are candy stations throughout the park, so you get to trick or treat the whole night long.  After awhile my kids said to me....No more candy Mom!   Those bags were getting heavy to carry around....LOL

Our family brought back the annual family reunion.  It had not taken place in a couple of years.  It was a great turn out despite having little blips along the way.  It was great seeing family we haven't seen in awhile.

Email On Android

The other day I kept getting  a pop up that said my phone was running low on space and therefore could not download any more text messges.  So I deleted some older text messages.  The message still popped up.   I figured I would delete some apps that I don't use to free up some space.  After getting rid of some apps.  Still getting the message! I didn't want to get rid of any more in case I needed them.  So I take a look at my email apps (I have 3).  The generic app had alot of trash that was taking up space. Funny thing is I couldn't find where I could empty the trash!  So here I go and google it.  I am so glad I wasn't the only one that couldn't figure it out.  Come to find out you have click on the trash can to open it up.  Then select each and every one of the emails then hit the delete button...again!  So see deleting emails really doesn't delete them!

Happy Birthday to my Baby Girl!

Today is my baby girls birthday.  Well she isn't a baby any more but still my baby.  I remember that day like it was yesterday.  I had to drive a ways to the hospital because there wasn't a Kaiser in my city.  The road to the hospital was rough and I felt every bump in the road.  She just wanted to be born!  Mija, you have grown into a lovely young woman and I see that what you have learned from me, you pass on to your own daughter.  Hugs and kisses, Love Mom

Where I Used To Live

I finally brought myself to return to my home town and visit the street where I used to live. The house that I grew up in is no longer there. There is a empty lot there now.  You see, my father passed away 5 years ago and I haven't been there since.  It has really changed.

It's Sabroso Saturday

I leisurely read my emails in the morning.  I get so many newsletters from the blogs I visit that if I don't keep my inbox tidy, it can be a headache!  I came upon this site Latina on a Mission through one of the blogs I visit.  I saw that this site also had a twitter account.  Since I love being on twitter, I decided to follow @MsLatina on twitter since I liked her blog.  Every now and then when I get a chance I read all the tweets in my feed, cause it does go by fast, she post links that refer back to her blog.  I especially like "It’s Sabroso Saturday (Translation: Tasty Saturday)! The day when we share recipes that have helped us stretch our budget, our imagination and our taste buds, without sacrificing our health".  There is also a linky so that others can post their own "Sabroso Saturday" recipes.  Since we eat with our eyes first, pictures are also posted.  What a great way to find something you find delicious and easy to make for your family.

What is the purpose of...?

I visit alot of blogs and some participate in this ritual of posting a picture and entitling the post Wordless Wednesday.  What is the purpose of Wordless Wednesday?   I guess what stumps me is that the title is Wordless Wednesday, but 9 times out of 10, there are comments that are included with the picure, so therefore it no longer is "Wordless...".  Yeah I know Google is my friend -----> off to Google "Wordless Wednesday".

I entered a Mug Hug giveaway over at Lifeonprint.  I won one of these great little items.  What it does is converts your favorite mug into a travel mug.  I know I will be using this alot since now I can travel with my favorite mug.

Rain on 4th of July?

Good thing we changed our 4th of July BBQ to the 3rd.  We had a freak storm.  So much water came down it flooded the backyard!

Our 3rd of July

Last month our friends invited us for a 4th of July BBQ.  Well they decided to change the day to the 3rd.  Reason being since they like to "celebrate" so if they had it on the 4th, people would be going to work on the 5th with hangovers....LOL  So having it on the 3rd gave people a day to chill out.  We had a blast.  It was hot, the kids had fun in the pool, and we ate great BBQ.  Then at night fall we had our own little fireworks in the street.

I Love Lucy

We have been purging in the garage.  Lots of junk and treasures....LOL  Guess what I found hidden away? 

We moved to this house 10 years ago, and this was still in the box packed with other items.  I still watch "I Love Lucy" shows and I do not get bored watching them over and over again.

Twizzlers!

I entered Twizzlers Landmark Summer giveaway over at Resourceful Mommy.  And I won!  I got this great prize package.  Look at all the goodies!  I really love the tote.  It has an insulated bottom and really is large. Plus the candy is yummy.

My Miche Bag

I entered a contest over at Macaroni Kid Torrance for a Miche Bag.  I have a friend who has one and really thought it was a neat idea.  Low and behold I won!  I was so excited when the package arrived.  Now I am set with my handbag wardrobe.

P.S.  Of course, since they included their current catalog in the box, I want more shells!  LOL

EWF Concert

My friend J invited me to go see our favorite band, Earth, Wind & Fire.  They were playing at the lovely Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.  We were sitting front row, but off to the right side of the stage.  So when the lights grew dim and the music started to play, I put my camera up to take of a picture of the group coming out on stage but ending up with this....

It was all good!  We had a good time singing and dancing the whole show.We were so close we could touch their feet!

I am on twitter alot.  I follow @PEEPSANDCOMPANY and since it is close to Easter they are doing some giveaways.  I also see alot of tweets about a chocolate covered Peep.  I hadn't seen them and was a little disappointed cause I really love chocolate plus a marshmallowy peep....yum!  Well guess what I found when I went to my neighborhood 99 cent store?  YES!!! Chocolate Covered Peeps!  They were yummy for my tummy.

This is really a neat idea except that the movie theater where I took this picture does not sell beverages in can or bottle form!  You actually get a two'fer!  This other picture is of my stubs.  Thought it was kinda neat cause it documents the date of 1/11/11.
